There are many things to consider before balancing any HVAC system. I cant stress enough the importance of having all the necessary data and information needed to start the project. The following list will help to prepare you for any job:
- Get all equipment submittal, job specifications book, and mechanical drawings.
- Read your TAB specification section.
- Have all A/C, exhaust, outlet and inlet, ext. sheets filled in with as much information as possible.(submittal data, grille designs, ext.)
- Label all A/C units and grilles on prints completely.
- Walk your job at different stages of construction to get familiar with the project and to find any installation errors.
- Talk with contractors involved with your project on a regular basis to establish a good working relationship.
- Make sure that all equipment has power and startup has been completed.
- Before balancing any unit check it over carefully to insure that filters and coils are clean. Fan rotation must also be checked.
